Welcoming Our First Residents
On Wednesday the 21st December, we were delighted to open our doors and welcome residents to their new home just in time for Christmas.
The team headed up by Sonia Kasese the Home Manager, was delighted to welcome the first two residents and their loved ones to the home.
There was an air of excitement ahead of the residents arriving which was soon replaced with lots of smiles, laughter and merriment which could be heard throughout the home. The home demonstrated its focus on adopting a person-centred care approach with each resident being welcomed with a goodie basket containing all of their personal favourite items.
Dining forms such an important part of the day here at Valerian Court, and so we presented residents with a wonderful 3-course meal on their first day. This menu is typical of the high-quality, home-cooked meals that our Head Chef Didier, and his team pride themselves on offering each day.
It was confirmed by residents that they had a great first night's sleep and have been familiarising themselves with the team and their new surroundings. We cannot wait to start creating special memories with residents and their families.
