We are delighted to welcome Sonia Kasese as the new Home Manager for Valerian Court. Sonia is an enthusiastic and versatile Registered Manager, with over 21 years healthcare experience and is a strong believer in providing respectful and inclusive high standards of care and service.
Kathy is our Deputy Manager here at Valerian Court and has been a Registered Nurse within the NHS for more than 11 years. Kathy initially specialised in renal care before becoming Ward Sister and later Matron of Acute General Medicine wards. Prior to qualifying as a nurse Kathy worked in a care home and enjoys deliver person-centred care once more. Kathy has a wealth of knowledge and experience in nursing and leadership and is excited to be part of the team at Valerian Court.
Michael has 15+ years of experience in healthcare in all different settings including forensic mental health, learning disabilities and community care. Michael has worked his way up from support worker to senior and then attended university and qualified as a nurse associate. Michael is one of our Unit Managers, he has a passion for giving the residents the best care and continuing to expand his experience and knowledge.
Parista has been a nurse since 2020, working in a hospital in Nepal before coming to the UK. Parista has three years of experience in paediatric intensive care and emergency departments. And believes everyone deserves kindness and respect and she always tries to understand residents needs and make them feel happy and comfortable. Parista is glad to be part of the team at Valerian Court. Parista is currently working to gain her UK Registered Nurse status.
Daisy is committed to her work and strives to provide the best care possible. She has a genuine passion for making a difference in people’s lives, which drives her to deliver exceptional care.
Emmanuel previously worked as a paediatric nurse before moving to the UK. He has always felt a strong connection with providing care for both children and adults. Emmanuel chose to join the team at Valerian Court because of the opportunities that are offered to their staff to build their skills and knowledge. Emmanuel gets satisfaction from helping residents and enjoys the peaceful environment at Valerian Court.
Mark is a Registered Degree Nurse from Ghana with over five years of experience as a nurse. Mark is currently a Team Leader at Valerian Court.
Ellen is a registered nurse/midwife in Ghana with five years experience. She is very supportive and compassionate. Ellen’s top priority is seeing the residents well, happy and comfortable with the care she delivers to them. Ellen will continue to gain experience alongside her formal training and examination to gain her UK registration.
Judy has a passion and commitment for caring for individuals and is ready to go out of her way to make others happy and feel better.
Anna is an experienced Nurse who has a background in critical care, having worked in Intensive Care for 12 years. Anna became part of the team here at Valerian Court to continue her passion for nursing and commitment to ensuring all residents receive the best care.
Doris is a competent and dedicated registered general nurse with a commitment to providing patient-centred quality health care directly and indirectly whilst developing her nursing knowledge to meet the ever-changing needs of nursing care. “Not only does Valerian Court have a serene environment for its residents but also the lovely people here make you want to stay.”
Khusbhu joined the team from Nepal where she had been working as a Nursing Supervisor. She cares deeply about her role and builds a great rapport between residents and their families.
Khusbhu has successfully passed her exams while working at Valerian Court and is now a fully Registered Nurse with her NMC pin.
Rachel joined Valerian Court Care Home after qualifying as a Registered Nurse in Ghana. Rachel is committed to making residents comfortable during their care and continues to gain experience, alongside formal training and examinations to gain her NMC pin to become a Registered Nurse. She is passionate, a good team player and always goes above and beyond.
Isabel joins the team at Valerian Court as a Care Assistant and brings a wealth of experience having worked in care for over 10 years between domiciliary care and care homes and having gained a Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
Kamudu (Kams) is a Care Assistant at Valerian Court and brings over 5 years of experience in the field of care homes, domiciliary and home care.
As a Buddhist, his philosophy is to give and support with care to any living being. Kams passion is to serve residents with a Warm Heart, Respect, Dignity, and Quality preserve these as my values and create a positive and safe environment for everyone under my care.
Kam enjoys learning and developing care standards and skills and keeping himself self-upgraded in providing quality care for residents.
Comfort is a hard-working person, she is a registered General and Critical Care Nurse from Ghana with 16 years of experience in health care. Comfort is looking forward to becoming a registered nurse in the UK in the near future.
Sibu has embraced her role and the opportunity it provides to gain new skills as well as improve her knowledge within the care sector. Sibu loves the satisfaction that comes with being able to help residents and make a positive difference in their daily lives.
Ernestina has nine months of experience working in care and has developed a compassionate approach. Ernestina works hard to get to know residents so that she can help them meet their needs.
Riki joined Valerian Court as a Care Assistant and is happy to be learning and gaining experience every day. Riki finds the role rewarding as she has the opportunity to help residents overcome their daily challenges and live happily.
Having worked as a volunteer staff in hospitals back in Nigeria after Udeme left her job as a confidential secretary in an oil and gas company. Udeme joined Valerian Court as a Care Assistant and is willing to learn in order to gain experience daily. Udeme looks forward to supporting and assisting the residents each day. Putting in her best to make sure the residents are safe and happy as well.
Sruthi joined Valerian Court as a Care Assistant and is happy to be learning and gaining experience every day and looks forward to giving support and the best service to our residents.
Having completed Health and Social Care at college Hollie has worked in care for over 7 years. Hollie really enjoys helping people and making their days better.
Having worked in hospitality for most of her career and wanting a change, Celestina saw similarities within the Care sector. Celestina has been working as a Care Assistant in care homes for three years and is passionate about providing excellent person-centred care and doing everything she can to ensure residents are happy.
Vimbai is a care assistant, she has an empathetic outlook on the world and cares deeply about other people’s wellbeing. Vimbai is gaining experience in the healthcare setting and is committed to providing the best service to our residents.
Nisha has joined our team here at Valerian Court as a Care Assistant and is happy to be learning and gaining experience every day. Nisha looks forward to greeting the residents and supporting and assisting them throughout the day.
Michelle has been working in the care sector for over ten years and has dedicated her working life to caring for people with Dementia. She strives to provide he best care possible to our residents here at Valerian Court and loves getting to know each resident individually.
Sandra joins our team as Activities Lead and is passionate about building relationships with our residents, their families, and the wider community, ensuring that we provide an activities programme that offers plenty of choice and variety.
Keith joins our team at Valerian Court as Maintenance Manager.
He is a retired Police Officer, having worked with Thames Valley Police for over 30 years. Keith uses his organisational and management skills to help out around the home. He strives to provide the best support to our residents and to make sure that the home continues to be well-maintained and fit for purpose.
Zuzana joins Valerian Court as Head Housekeeper and brings a wealth of experience having worked as a Head Housekeeper in a local hotel. Zuzana takes great pride in working as part of a team, and ensuring that residents’ expectations are met in relation to the cleanliness of their rooms and the home throughout.
Sarah joined our team over a year ago and has been part of a growing and thriving team. She has a passion for ensuring that there are high high standards of cleanliness around the home are met and enjoys getting to know and building relationships with the residents.
Kelly is a fully qualified hairdresser having worked in the hair industry for over 15 years. Kelly loves her job and the uplift it provides whether it be a trim, blow dry or something new. Kelly cannot wait to meet all the residents and to provide a pampering service.
Throughout her working career, Lorraine has always enjoyed administration, starting as an office junior at the age of 18. This gave Lorraine the passion to learn all aspects of administration to enable her to work towards becoming an Office Manager.
Kim is one of the receptionists at Valerian Court and will often be one of the first people you come into contact with whether it be in person or by phone. Being local to the home Kim has great local knowledge to be able to assist residents and relatives alike.
Eliza has 20 years of experience working in various roles within the NHS and most recently as a GP receptionist. Eliza is a kind and caring person who enjoys talking and listening to the older generations’ life stories and is looking forward to bringing a smile to the residents’ next chapter in life.
