Residents at Valerian Court recently enjoyed visiting Mudeford Quay, inspired by one resident’s memories of sitting by the beach and painting the beautiful view.
At Valerian Court, residents have an important say in how they spend their time, with activities and outings shaped around their interests, hobbies and experiences. The trips to Mudeford Quay were a lovely example of this, giving residents the chance to revisit a much-loved seaside location and create new memories together.

There was plenty to enjoy, from traditional fish and chips and ice cream to watching people fishing and hunting for crabs. Residents also enjoyed chatting with passers-by, particularly when a friendly dog came along, and there was even time for some souvenir shopping before another ice cream by the sea.
As Val summed it up perfectly, “Fish and chips and ice cream always taste better when you are at the seaside.”
Outings like these can have a meaningful impact on wellbeing, providing opportunities to enjoy familiar places, continue lifelong interests and spend time with others. At Valerian Court, these experiences are part of creating a fulfilling daily life where residents can make choices, stay connected to their interests and enjoy doing the things that matter to them.
