Enjoying Summer with Our Annual BBQ at Valerian Court
It is safe to say that our Annual Summer BBQ was a success, with around 50 residents, visitors, and guests joining us on the roof terrace at Valerian Court to soak up the sun and enjoy good food and smiles all around. With beautiful weather and plenty of time to relax together, it was a fantastic opportunity to make the most of our rooftop terrace garden and enjoy a special summer celebration in the fresh air.
Good Food and an Even Better Mood
The BBQ brought everyone together over a delicious American-style menu, with burgers, sausages, chicken drumsticks, chicken skewers, potato salad, salad, pineapple upside-down cake and ice cream. As it was also International Ice Cream Day, the sweet treats were especially well received and added to the sense of occasion on a hot and sunny day.
We were also pleased to receive live music from Gary Roman, which created a lively atmosphere throughout the afternoon, giving residents and guests the chance to enjoy the entertainment together. The guest list didn't stop there as we also welcomed the local Mayor, David Rouane, who joined us to enjoy the sunshine and the opportunity to chat with residents and other guests.
Making the Most of Our Rooftop Terrace
It was lovely to see so many families and former residents come along and share the day with us. Our roof terrace garden provided the perfect outdoor setting, showing just how valuable an outdoor space is for bringing people together and creating enjoyable events in a bright, welcoming environment.
Using our outdoor area in this way is something we are always proud to do, as it allows residents to spend quality time outside as they wish, whether relaxing or socialising with others. The atmosphere was full of energy, making it a highlight of the summer.
A Wonderful Team Effort
A huge thank you goes to Harish and his team for putting on such an amazing BBQ, and to Vicky for organising the event so thoughtfully. We would also like to thank each and every member of our caring team for their support throughout the day, along with Andrei for bringing extra fun to the celebration with his dance moves.
One of our own residents summed up the afternoon perfectly, saying, “Well done to Harry and the team for the BBQ, it was lovely. Thank you to Vicky for organising. And all the caring staff. And of course Andrei for the dance moves. And it was beautiful weather.” It was a lovely reflection of just how much the day meant to everyone involved.
