At Valerian Court, we are delighted to offer a cinema room as part of our facilities that residents can use on a daily basis. As well as an extensive range of films, we offer a comfortable setting, and a selection of snacks and refreshments for residents to enjoy whilst they sit back and unwind.

As part of our person-focused care approach, we believe it is vital to provide residents with a quiet space where they can fully relax with fellow residents or loved ones. We collaborate closely with our residents and take suggestions on board if there is a specific film they’d like to see added to the collection.

An Extensive Film Collection

It is important that we have something for everyone, so we offer a plethora of genres within our film collection for residents to choose from. From thrillers to black-and-white classics and comedies, we are constantly adding to our collection. Our cosy cinema room is also a brilliant way to spend time with friends and family members where you can request to rent out the cinema for the afternoon. Watching films often brings an element of nostalgia so we can see why this is a popular pastime.

The Ideal Place to Relax

There’s no doubt that one of life’s simple pleasures is relaxing under a blanket with your feet up while sinking into a chair in front of a wide-screen TV. Doing something as simple as watching your favourite film with your close companions can improve a person’s mental and emotional well-being, as well as stimulate imagination, memory and engagement levels. Not only that, but as it doesn’t require much effort, residents of all ages and abilities can take part in the activity.

Our cinema has been meticulously designed to give residents a true movie theatre ambiance in the comfort of their own home. With a generous screen, comfortable seating, cinema-style refreshments, and a wide array of movie titles, residents can sit back, relax, and enjoy their favourite films.

Our cinema is available for all residents, included in their fees. Loved ones are also welcome to make full use of our cinema room and facilities. If our residents wish, we can coordinate private screenings for residents and their friends or family.

We offer a variety of movie titles and genres, aiming to cater to diverse preferences. We actively engage with our residents to understand their favourite films, ensuring a collection that suits everyone. On occasions, we also present special broadcasts such as sports events and arrange group cinema sessions that offer meaningful shared moments.
