Car Wash Fund-Raiser

On Saturday 19th August, we held our very first fund-raising car wash here at our care home in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

We welcomed members of the community and relatives of our residents to our pop-up car wash. Team members and volunteers jet rinsed, shampooed, waxed, and dried 20 cars during the event which ran from 10am -15pm.

Supporters of the event were treated to complimentary drinks in the home's Bistro while they waited and a tombola and cake sale was also hosted by the residents ‘fundraising members’, which had been handcrafted by the talented team of Chefs here at Valerian Court.

All monies raised from the event are supporting the home’s 'Resident's Fund' which enables enhanced activities and experiences for the residents. 

Sonia Kasese, our Home Manager commented:

"Today has been such a fun event and our residents, their relatives, and the local community and everyone has been so supportive of our car wash. We are so proud of our beautiful care home and events such as these are a great opportunity for us to showcase what we have to offer as well as fundraising to further enhance the lifestyle we offer our residents."

Sonia went on to comment:

"Today was undeniably a huge success with one of the supporters of the event commenting, ‘My car is gleaming, thank you."

We are delighted to have not only been able to do this for our residents but to also support the local community at the same time. The team at Valerian Court Care Home will be looking to organise further fund-raising events throughout the year for the benefit of residents and the local community.
